Your Legal Obligations
Vehicle legislation is constantly updated and revised and can be difficult to keep up with.
Tracking provides the means to ensure that you meet the following legal obligations: Corporate Manslaughter Act–From 6th April 2008, a business can be prosecuted for any gross failing throughout the organisation in the management of health & safety that results in fatal consequences.
Directors have a duty of care to their employees and need to be aware of their movements and actions throughout a working day.
Tracking provides the ability to:–Specify speed parameters to ensure driver safety–Highlighting any exceptions in vehicle activity (i.e. harsh braking/ harsh acceleration)
Working Time Directive
The Working Time Directive is a collection of regulations concerning hours of work and is designed to protect the health and safety of workers. Key features are the limiting of the maximum length of a working week to 48 hours in 7 days and a minimum rest period of 11 hours in each 24 hours.
Vehicle Tracking enables businesses to meet these regulations by, user defined journey lengths and highlighting exceptions.
Vehicle Tax
From April 2007, the benefits in kind tax change on company vans was increased from £500 - £3,000 per annum. Only by proving that a vehicle is used for purely business, not personal use can a company protect itself from this tax. GPS Tracking can equip businesses with unequivocable evidence to support any claims.
